Abstract:
The present invention relates to a capacitive touch detection means and a detection method using a new scheme, which detects a touch signal using a difference between voltage magnitudes detected according to whether a touch is generated on a touch detection unit when an alternate voltage is applied to a line equivalent capacitor formed between a sensing pad being detecting touch and a non-sensing pad adjacent to the sensing pad. The touch detection means according to the present invention detects whether a touch capacitance (Ct) is generated by an approach of a touch input means which presses the upper surface of a display device and is exemplified as a finger (25) of a human body or a conductive material similar to the same. The touch detection means comprises: a sensing pad (10a) generating the touch capacitance (Ct) between the sensing pad (10a) and the touch input means; an alternate voltage applied to a line equivalent capacitor (Ceq) formed between the sensing pad (10a) and a non-sensing pad (10b) adjacent to the sensing pad (10a); and a touch detection unit (14) connected to the sensing pad (13) to detect a voltage difference generated according to whether the touch is generated by the touch input means. According to the present invention, a parasitic capacitor generated between a sensing pad signal line and a non-sensing pad signal line is used for detecting a touch, thereby easily designing and manufacturing a touch panel, and improving touch sensitivity.
