Abstract:
The disclosed capsule type medical device guidance system (1) is provided with: a first magnetic gradient setting unit (46) which calculates, as a first magnetic gradient, the magnetic gradient of the magnetic field which generates a magnetic attraction force in the vertical direction such that the sum of the forces of the buoyancy, gravity, and the vertical direction magnetic attractive force on the capsule endoscope (10) in the liquid is about 0; and a magnetic field setting unit (48) which, if guidance command information is not inputted by means of an operation input unit (7), applies to a magnetic generation unit (2) a magnetic field having the first magnetic gradient, and, if guidance command information has been inputted by means of the operation input unit (7), applies to the magnetic field generation unit (2) a magnetic field having a magnetic gradient corresponding to the guidance command information inputted from the operation input unit (7) added to the first magnetic gradient.
