Abstract:
The carbon fiber sheet (1) for reinforcement of the present invention includes carbon fiber filaments (2) arranged in parallel along one direction and a thermoplastic adhesive (4) present in at least some of each cross-section along a direction crossing the carbon fiber filaments (2), the filaments (2) and the adhesive (4) having been united to constitute the sheet. It is preferable that the sheet (1) for reinforcement have a minimum carbon-fiber amount necessary for obtaining the reinforcing effect. The carbon fiber filaments (2) each have a sizing agent layer (3) of an epoxy resin on the surface thereof. The sizing agent layer (3) has a high affinity for the thermoplastic adhesive layer (4), which is present on the surface thereof, the two having been tenaciously bonded to each other. Due to this, the carbon fiber sheet for reinforcement is thin, has satisfactory handleabilty, and is easily bonded to a substance to be reinforced.
