Abstract:

A method for producing a carbon material, said method comprising: a step in which a carbon material precursor polymer composition comprising an acrylonitrile polymer is heated to 200-350℃ in an oxidizing atmosphere and subjected to flame-resistance treatment to obtain a flame-resistant polymer; and a step in which the flame-resistant polymer is heated and subjected to carbonization in a non-oxidizing atmosphere containing a gaseous substance (A) comprising acetylene and/or an acetylene derivative.
