Abstract:
Provided is a CNT twisted yarn that has a breaking load index (F), as defined by formula (1), of 150 nN or more when in a state wherein CNT threads have simply been twisted. Also provided are a production method for the CNT twisted yarn and a spinning source that is suitable for the production of the CNT twisted yarn. (1) F = Tφ2/(φ/d)2, wherein T is the average tensile strength (in MPa) of the CNT twisted yarn and is the arithmetic mean of tensile strength values measured for three or more strands of the CNT twisted yarn that are produced under the same conditions, φ is the average diameter (in μm) of the CNT twisted yarn and is the arithmetic mean of the average diameters of the three or more strands of CNT twisted yarn measured for tensile strength or of three or more strands of CNT twisted yarn produced under the same conditions as the CNT twisted yarn measured for tensile strength, and d is the average diameter (in nm) of the CNT and is the arithmetic mean of the average diameters of the CNT that constitute the three or more strands of CNT twisted yarn measured for tensile strength or that constitute three or more strands of CNT twisted yarn produced under the same conditions as the CNT twisted yarn measured for tensile strength.
