Abstract:
One aspect of the present invention relates to a carbonaceous material of which the BET specific surface area is 750 m2/g to 1000 m2/g inclusive when calculated by a BET method from a nitrogen adsorption isotherm, the ratio of the pore volume of pores each having a size of 0.3875 to 0.9125 nm as calculated by an HK method from the nitrogen adsorption isotherm to the total pore volume as calculated by the HK method is 80% or more, and the average pore diameter determined in accordance with the formula shown below using the BET specific surface area and a total pore volume calculated by the HK method from the nitrogen adsorption isotherm is 1.614 nm or less. D = 4000×V/S (wherein D represents the average pore diameter (nm), V represents the total pore volume (mL/g), and S represents the specific surface area (m2/g)).
