Abstract:
Provided are a novel carboxylate salt or sulfonate salt having a plurality of carbonyl groups, and a surfactant. The compound is characterized by being represented by the formula R1–C(=O)–R2–C(=O)–R3–A (in the formula, R1 is a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group having at least 1 carbon or is a cyclic alkyl group having at least 3 carbons, wherein: the carbon atom-bonded hydrogen atom therein may be substituted by a monovalent organic group containing the ester bond or the hydroxy group; when 2 or more carbons are present, a carbonyl group may be contained; and when 3 or more carbons are present, a monovalent or divalent heterocycle may be contained or a ring may be formed. R2 and R3 are independently a single bond or a divalent linking group. The total number of carbons in R1, R2, and R3 is at least 5. A is –COOX or –SO3X (X is H, a metal atom, NR4
