Abstract:
A card reader and a POS machine, the card reader (20) comprising a card base (21) and a flexible circuit board (24), one end of the flexible circuit board (24) being placed on the reverse face of the card base (21), the front face of the card base (21) being provided with a plurality of elastic contact points (22) used for connecting to the chip on a card, and the reverse face of the card base (21) being provided with a plurality of pins respectively in electrical communication with the elastic contact points (22), the pins being connected to one end of the flexible circuit board (24), and the card reader (20) also comprising a metal cover (25), the metal cover (25) covering the reverse face of the card base (21) and the four sides of the card base (21), and the metal cover (25) being fixedly connected to the card base (21). By means of arranging the metal cover (25) and installing the card base (21) in the metal cover (25), the metal cover (25) covers the reverse face and the four sides of the card base (21), thereby protecting the pins of the reverse face of the card base (21), preventing illegal detection of the pin signals and increasing security; the protective structure is simple and low cost, assembly is convenient, the occupied space is small, and the structure will not affect or limit the size of the card base (21), facilitating card base (21) design and manufacture.
