Abstract:
Provided is a cascade pump apparatus that is capable of ensuring the perpendicularity of a shaft that rotatably supports a rotor, while preventing an increase in size in the axial direction. A pump chamber (20) of the cascade pump apparatus (1) is formed between a laminated upper case (12) and lower case (11). The rotor (16), upon which an impeller (18) positioned on the pump chamber (20) is mounted, is rotatably supported by the shaft (17). The shaft (17) has: an upper end portion that is press fitted and secured to a shaft press-fit securing hole (30) in the upper case (12); and a lower end portion that fits into a shaft fitting hole (35) in the lower case (11) when the lower case (11) is positioned and laminated on the upper case (12). The axis of the shaft (17) coincides with the central axis of the pump chamber (20) as a result of the lower end portion fitting into the shaft fitting hole (35). Given that the press fit allowance of the shaft (17) does not need to be increased in length in order to ensure the perpendicularity of the shaft (17), the cascade pump apparatus (1) can be reduced in size in the axis (L) direction.
