Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a cast-coated paper for a process-paper base material, the cast-coated paper being suitable for use as a base material for process paper used in the production of synthetic leather, having favorable dimensional stability as well as excellent durability against repeated use, and having an excellent cast surface feel. Provided is a cast-coated paper for a process paper base material, characterized by satisfying conditions (1) and (2), and in that an underlayer and a cast layer, which have a pigment, are provided, in the stated order, to at least one surface of a base paper.
(1) The raw material of the base paper is hardwood pulp and softwood pulp, and the mixing ratio of hardwood pulp to softwood pulp is 95:5 to 75:25 (solid content weight ratio).
(2) Kaolin or a mixture of kaolin and calcium carbonate is included at 90 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of pigment in the cast layer. In the case of the mixture, the mixing ratio of kaolin to calcium carbonate is within the range from 80:20 to less than 100:0 (weight ratio).
