A catalyst for alcohol synthesis for synthesizing an alcohol from a mixed gas that contains hydrogen and carbon monoxide. This catalyst for alcohol synthesis is characterized by being a mixture of catalyst particles α for converting carbon monoxide into an oxygenated product and catalyst particles β for converting an aldehyde into an alcohol.
