Abstract:
Disclosed is a catalyst carrier particle (10) wherein rare earth oxide enriched regions (2) are scattered in the surface of a zirconia metal oxide particle (1). Also disclosed is a method for producing a catalyst carrier particle, which comprises a step (a) for preparing a colloidal solution containing colloidal particles of a hydroxide or oxide of a rare earth element, a step (b) for adding a zirconia metal oxide particle into the colloidal solution and having the colloidal particles adsorbed and loaded on the surface of the zirconia metal oxide particle, and a step (c) for drying and firing the zirconia metal oxide particle on which the colloidal particles are adsorbed and loaded.
