Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a catalyst capable of suppressing generation of coke-like substances and improving the long-term stability of a reaction, in a reaction for producing a conjugated diolefin by catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation from a mixed gas containing a monoolefin having 4 or more carbon atoms and molecular oxygen; and a method for producing the catalyst. [Solution] A composite metal oxide catalyst for production of a conjugated diolefin, which is used to produce a conjugated diolefin by catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation from a mixed gas containing a monoolefin having 4 or more carbon atoms and molecular oxygen, and which is characterized by having an X-Ray diffraction peak relative intensity ratio represented by formula (A) 0.9 < Pr < 3.0 (A) Pr = Pi1/Pi2 (In the formula, Pi1 denotes the maximum peak height among X-Ray diffraction peaks within the range 2θ = 26.4°±0.3°, Pi2 denotes the maximum peak height among X-Ray diffraction peaks within the range 2θ = 28.5°±0.3°, and Pr is the relative intensity ratio of Pi1 relative to Pi2.).
