Abstract:
The present invention provides a catalyst which enables the production of isobutylene with high selectivity in cases where isobutylene is produced by means of dehydration of isobutanol. A catalyst according to the present invention contains at least one kind of metal that is selected from among group 6 to group 14 metal elements in the fourth to sixth rows of the periodic table in an alumina which contains an alumina that is composed of one or more crystal phases selected from among a monoclinic crystal phase, a tetragonal crystal phase and a cubic crystal phase.
