Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a catalyst that has a high selectivity for α,β-unsaturated aldehydes, α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids, and the like. This catalyst includes at least molybdenum and bismuth, and exhibits a B/A of 1.3-5, where A represents the ratio of the quantity of bismuth atoms with respect to the quantity of molybdenum atoms, calculated by an inductively coupled radiofrequency plasma (ICP) emission spectrography, and B represents the ratio of the peak area of bismuth atoms with respect to the peak area of molybdenum atoms, measured by an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis method.
