Abstract:
The present invention provides: a catalyst which is capable of efficiently decomposing nitrous oxide; a precursor of this catalyst; a method for producing this catalyst; a method for decomposing nitrous oxide, the method being capable of efficiently decomposing nitrous oxide; and a reaction tube filled with a catalyst. The present invention provides: a catalyst which is obtained by having a carrier that contains titanium oxide support a component that contains at least one substance selected from the group consisting of ruthenium and ruthenium compounds, and which constitutes a catalyst filled layer of a reaction tube, while having a honeycomb structure wherein the volume filling rate is 35% by volume to 50% by volume when the catalyst filled layer is configured; a catalyst which is obtained by having a carrier support a component that contains ruthenium acid; a precursor of the catalyst; a method for producing the catalyst; a reaction tube filled with a catalyst, wherein the volume filling rate of a catalyst filled layer that is filled with the catalyst is 35% by volume to 50% by volume; and a method for decomposing nitrous oxide, the method comprising a step in which the catalyst and a nitrous oxide-containing gas that contains nitrous oxide are brought into contact with each other.
