Abstract:
The present invention relates to a catalyst for preparing methyl acetate from dimethyl ether and/or methanol by means of carbonylation. The catalyst comprises a first catalyst layer which contains a metal loaded on a carrier material and a second catalyst layer which contains an H-type molecular sieve, wherein the first catalyst layer and the second catalyst layer are spatially separated. The catalyst of the present invention can obviously improve the yield of methyl acetate and has a considerable selectivity. In addition, the present invention further relates to a method for preparing methyl acetate from dimethyl ether and/or methanol by means of carbonylation using the catalyst.
