Abstract:
Provided are: a catalyst treatment device, which is inexpensive due to a reduction in the amount of a catalyst component used, which does not require a casing or other such equipment to be separately provided, and which is provided with a supported catalyst in which voids are suitably formed during loading, thereby minimizing the incidence of extreme pressure loss; and a method for manufacturing said device. This catalyst treatment device is provided with a supported catalyst having a corrugated and fragmented shape. The supported catalyst includes: glass paper that has a corrugated and fragmented shape; a catalyst active component supported on the glass paper, the catalyst active component exhibiting catalytic activity; and an inorganic binder that is required in order to cause the catalyst active component to be supported on the glass paper and in order to form the glass paper into a corrugated shape.
