Abstract:
A catchment structure is provided with: a water repellent sand layer (10), that is a water barrier layer made of water repellent sand, disposed at a slant between a top and a bottom soil layer (1, 2); a water conveyance zone (20), made of at least one or both of gravel (11) or a culvert (12), disposed between the water repellent sand layer and the top soil layer; and a water barrier wall (30) disposed on the downstream side of the slant. Water that penetrates down into the soil layer from the ground surface is blocked by the water repellent sand layer, flows down the downstream side of the slant by flowing in the water conveyance zone on top of the water repellent sand layer, and is checked by the water barrier wall on the downstream side of the slant. The catchment water can be recovered from a drainage hole (40) in the culvert that passes through the water barrier wall.
