Abstract:
A catheter according to the present invention is provided with a flexible tube, an image guide, a light guide, and a reinforcement pipe. In the present invention: the flexible tube envelops the image guide, the light guide, and the reinforcement pipe; the reinforcement pipe comprises a plurality of slits disposed along a long axis direction; the plurality of slits are constituted by at least one spiral-shaped slit or a plurality of arc-shaped slits provided continuously or discontinuously along the outer circumference of the reinforcement pipe; and the spacing between two adjacent slits in the long axis direction of the reinforcement pipe is designed to be greater at the proximal side of the catheter than at the distal side thereof.
