Abstract:
Provided are: a catheter that allows an increase in the outer diameter of a catheter shaft to be prevented, and the communication between a guidewire lumen and an expansion lumen can be prevented during thermal fusion bonding; and a manufacturing method for the same. The catheter 10 according to the present invention has a catheter shaft 11 in which a distal shaft 20, an inner tube shaft 22, and a proximal shaft 21 are integrally fusion-bonded at a fusion region 25. The inner tube shaft 22 has an opening 11a that is open to the outside and an arc portion 40 that extends proximally from the opening 11a and has only a portion of the entire circumference of the inner tube shaft 22. The fusion region 25 includes the opening 11a, which is located closer to the distal end than the proximal end of the distal shaft 20, and a region in which the arc portion 40 and the proximal shaft 21 are fusion-bonded is formed proximal to the opening 11a in the fusion region 25. The proximal shaft 21 and the inner tube shaft 22 are fusion-bonded together over the entire length of the distal end of the fusion region 25 to the proximal end.
