Abstract:

Provided are a catheter having an at least two-layer structure and capable of minimizing destruction at an interface between layers when used to thereby suppress a decrease in function, and a method for manufacturing the same. A catheter comprises: an inner layer (6) that is a tubular body produced from a thermoplastic resin; an outer layer (7) that is a tubular body produced from a thermoplastic resin and is in contact with the outer surface of the inner layer (6); and a reinforcement member (8) that is at least partially embedded in the inner layer (6) and has a gap (81) from which the inner layer (6) is led to the outside in the radial direction of the catheter (1). The inner layer (6) has a protruding portion (61) that extends in the axial direction of the catheter (1) while protruding from the gap (81) to the outside in the radial direction to be located on the outside in the radial direction of the reinforcement member (8) and get into the outer layer (7).
