Abstract:
Provided is a catheter which is capable of preventing pieces of tissue that are attached to a mesh member from falling when removing the catheter. The catheter 1 includes: a first hollow shaft 10; a tubular mesh member 20 which has a base end that is connected to a distal end of the first hollow shaft 10 and which is configured to radially expand or contract; a distal tip 30 which is connected to a distal end of the mesh member 20; a first core wire 50 which has a distal end that is connected to the distal tip 30, and which extends inside the mesh member 20 and the first hollow shaft 10 such that the base end thereof is positioned more toward the base end side than a base end of the first hollow shaft 10; and a second hollow shaft 60 which slides along an axial direction of the first hollow shaft 10, and is movably provided between a first position and a second position, the first position being a position in which the distal end of the second hollow shaft 60 is positioned more toward the base end side than the distal end of the first hollow shaft 10 and the second hollow shaft 60 surrounds an outer circumference of the first hollow shaft 10, and the second position being a position in which the distal end of the second hollow shaft 60 is positioned more toward the distal end side than the distal end of the first hollow shaft 10 and the second hollow shaft 60 surrounds an outer circumference of the mesh member 20.
