The present invention relates to a cathode active material and a method for manufacturing same. The cathode active material, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: an active material core containing a metal or a quasi-metal which can form an alloy with lithium; and a carbon membrane in which the active material forms a core and which comprises at least one through-hole.
