Abstract:
The present embodiments relate to a cathode active material, a preparation method therefor, and a lithium secondary battery comprising same. An embodiment can provide a cathode active material comprising a lithium metal oxide particle and a coating layer disposed on the surface of the lithium metal oxide particle and having a c value of 1.25 or higher as analyzed for W4f by XPS, the c value being represented by formula 1 below: [Formula 1] c=b/a. In formula 1, a is a strength value of W4f 5/2 as measured by XPS and b is a strength value of specific W4f 7/2 as measured by XPS.
