Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cathode active material and a preparation method therefor, the cathode active material comprising: a lithium composite transition metal oxide containing 70 atm% or more of nickel in all metal elements other than lithium; and a coating layer formed on the surface of the lithium composite transition metal oxide and containing Ti and B, wherein Ti and B are contained at amounts of 300-800 ppm and 500-1000 ppm relative to the total weight of the cathode active material, respectively.
