Abstract:
A cathode member for electron beam generation according to the present disclosure is configured such that 95% by area or more thereof is occupied by a single phase or two phases of a compound that is composed of iridium and cerium, while having a total content of one or more minor components, which are selected from among oxides of iridium and/or cerium, of 5% by area or less.
