Abstract:
A cathode ray tube which provides a favorable quality with a high contrast by reducing the reentrance of reflected electrons into a fluorescent face or stray light. The out wall of the skirt section (3B) of at least the panel section (3) of a cathode ray tube body (2) is coated with a photoabsorbent layer (10), which constitutes a cathode ray tube formed of a material with almost the same refractive index as that of the cathode ray tube body (2).
