Provided are a cation exchange membrane, said cation exchange membrane not showing such changes in ion exchanging performance as observed in the course of using polyvinyl alcohol-based ion exchange membranes, having excellent basic characteristics, for example, membrane resistance and ion transportation rate and a high membrane strength, and being useful in electrodialysis too, and a method for producing the same.
