Abstract:
Provided in embodiments of the present invention are a cell switching method and device. Cells comprise a first cell and at least one second cell having a same terminal apparatus in the coverage thereof, wherein channel resources of the first cell comprise an SCCPCH and a PRACH, and channel resources of the second cell do not comprise an SCCPCH or a PRACH. The method comprises: an RNC determines, according to a current state and a target state of the terminal apparatus and a predetermined mapping relationship, a target cell of the terminal apparatus, wherein the mapping relationship comprises that if the target state is a first state including an idle state, CELL_FACH state, CELL_PCH state, and URA_PCH state, then the target cell is the first cell, and if the target state is a second state including a CELL_DCH state, then the target cell is the second cell; and the RNC instructs the terminal apparatus to switch from a current cell to the target cell. The present invention improves a resource utilization rate of multiple cells having coverage of a same area.
