Abstract:
This cellulose acylate has a total degree of substitution by an acyl group of 0.3-1.8, a substitution rate by an acyl group except an acetyl group of at least 95%, and a substitution rate at position 6 of at most 40%. A method for producing said cellulose acylate comprises: a step for dispersing or dissolving cellulose acylate serving as a raw material; a step for adding an acid catalyst to the cellulose acylate and performing hydrolysis; a step for neutralizing the acid catalyst after the hydrolysis; and a step for mixing the hydrolyzed cellulose acylate with a poor solvent and performing precipitation. The cellulose acylate serving as a raw material is cellulose butyrate or cellulose acetate butyrate having a total degree of substitution of greater than 1.8.
