Abstract:
This cemented carbide comprises a first phase composed of a plurality of tungsten carbide particles and a second phase containing cobalt, and said cemented carbide contains chromium and vanadium, wherein: the mass-based percentage of the chromium to the cobalt is 5-9%; the mass-based percentage of the vanadium to the cobalt is 2-5%; the area ratio of the second phase is 7.5-13.5 area%; the number of the second phases is a least 1,000; and the area ratio of the second phase and the number of the second phases are measured in a measurement visual field of 101 μm2 by performing image processing on the scanning electron microscopic image of the cross section of said cemented carbide.
