Abstract:
Provided are: a ceramic-based acoustic matching layer material which is easy to adjust acoustic impedance; a method for producing same; and use of the ceramic-based acoustic matching layer material. This ceramic-based acoustic matching layer material is a porous molded body containing titanium oxide, characterized in that the apparent density is 2.5-4 g/cm3. This ceramic-based acoustic matching layer material can be produced by the production method according to the present invention, the production method being characterized by involving a pressure molding step for pressure molding particles (A) containing titanium oxide, and a firing step for firing the molded article obtained in the pressure molding step, wherein the heating temperature in the firing step is set to 900-1,400°C.
