Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of production of a composite material containing molibdenum disilicide in the form of grains of a size of 20-60 microns. The method comprises the preparation of an exothermic mixture containing silicon, molibdenum oxide (VI), aluminium and molibdenum at the following ratio of the components in percent by weight: silicon 29-38; molibdenum oxide (VI) 7-42; aluminium 3-16; molibdenum 13-52; its thermal treatment in a burning regime with subsequent compacting of the obtained burnt product by means of at least double compression, at a deformation degree of 0.75-0.90 at each stage of compression, and at a temperature of 1,500-1,900�C.
