Abstract:
A ceramic electronic component comprises a sintered ceramic body and an Ag-containing electrode provided on the surface of the sintered ceramic body. The sintered ceramic body comprises a glass material formed from borosilicate glass. A plurality of closed pores and a plurality of open pores are formed in the glass material. The diameters of the plurality of closed pores and plurality of open pores decrease as the distance from the surface of the sintered ceramic body increases. In the resulting ceramic electronic component, the delamination of the electrode from the sintered ceramic body during the firing step for the sintered ceramic body can be prevented.
