Title:
CERAMIC SPHERES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/044983
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Ceramic spheres that include zirconia as a primary component and are 80–95 volume% tetragonal crystals and no more than 5 volume% monoclinic crystals, the ceramic spheres being characterized in that, when average particle diameter is X (μm), the maximum height of waviness Wz (μm) of the line of intersection between a cross-section and the surface of spheres that have a diameter of X/2 (μm) is 0.5%–1.2% of the average particle diameter X (μm). The present invention provides ceramic spheres that can be used as a medium, such as balls or beads, that is for use in a grinder and do not readily break, even when grinding and dispersion are performed at normal temperature and a high water temperature.
