Abstract:
Provided is a chain elongation detection apparatus with which it is possible to easily confirm the amount of elongation and the position of elongation with respect to partial elongation of a chain. The chain elongation detection apparatus comprises: a meshing height measurement device that measures the meshing height of a chain in a range in which the chain meshes with a drive sprocket or a driven sprocket; and a signal processing device that derives the difference between the heights of rollers meshing with the chain by using a signal acquired by the meshing height measurement device, estimates the partial elongation of the chain from the derived difference in heights, and specifies a position at which partial elongation of the chain is occurring on the basis of a waveform superposed on the signal acquired by the meshing height measurement device according to a shape provided to the chain.
