The present invention relates to the technical field of urban lighting, and more particularly relates to a chain unit having a light source module, and a chain lamp. The present invention comprises an inner ring and a light source module, wherein the inner ring has an inner ring side and an outer ring side, and an opening is formed on the outer ring side of the inner ring; the light source module comprises a substrate, a light-emitting portion and a packaging cover; and after the packaging cover matches the substrate, the light-emitting portion can be packaged therein, and the light source module is mounted in the inner ring, so that the packaging cover is fitted with the opening in an embedded manner. According to the present invention, an integrated light source module is arranged in the inner ring having the opening, so that the light source module fulfils the high requirements of the IP68 waterproof rating, and can be loaded in a wet environment such as underwater in a swimming pool, a beach and a river bank guardrail, thereby solving the problem in the prior art whereby a decorative lamp cannot be used in underwater scenarios.
