Abstract:
A chainsaw setting machine (1) comprising a round-shaft-like grinding tool (7) attached to the front end of the drive shaft of a handy type electric motor (3), and a guide body (8) mounted through a mount (9) and consisting of a bidirectional upper plate surface (80) X-shaped as seen in a plan view and fitted to the top of a saw chain (30) along the latter to match the setting angle of either one of the left and right cutter blades (31, 32) of the saw chain (30) and directed forward from the front end of the electric motor of the setting machine main body (2), and wall surfaces (81a-81e). Substantially the middle surface of the guide body (8) is formed with an exposure section consisting of openings (85, 86) for visually observing the grinding tool (7) and the setting cutter blade tips from above. Provided internally or laterally of the exposure section is a guide (87) for pressing the setting cutter blades from above to prevent deviation or tilting of the cutter blades and to determine the accurate included angle. This arrangement ensures that by simply pressing the guide body forward while causing the latter to extend along the position which matches the setting angle of either one of the left and right cutter blades, the accurate setting angle and the setting matching the included angle can be obtained while stabilizing the attitude of the cutter blade; thus, the operation of setting the tips of the cutter blades can be efficiently performed.
