Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a chip for surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy which includes a Ag alloy film that has excellent halogen resistance and that is inhibited from decreasing in the intensity of reflected light and has a reflected-light intensity equal to that of Au films. This chip for surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy comprises a transparent dielectric substrate and, deposited thereover, a Ag alloy film which contains Bi, wherein an essential point of the invention resides in that a high-Bi-concentration layer region in which the Bi content in the vicinity of the surface of the Ag alloy film is higher than the Bi content of the whole Ag alloy film has been formed.
