Abstract:
A chloroprene polymer latex suitable for use in an aqueous adhesive and which constitutes an aqueous adhesive that has excellent initial bonding strength and that in particular has excellent bonding strength in a moist state. This chloroprene polymer latex contains a chloroprene polymer and one or more emulsifiers selected from rosin acid and an alkali metal salt thereof, and is characterized in that the toluene-insoluble gel content ratio in the solid content of the chloroprene polymer latex is less than or equal to 20 mass%, and the weight average molecular weight of the toluene-soluble sol content in the solid content of the chloroprene polymer latex is greater than or equal to 1 million.
