The Figs. 1 and 4 will be referred to in describing the preferred embodiment of the present invention. The cigarette ignition device 8 comprise of hollow space inside of the device; secondary inflammable substance 5 comprising of a gummed section 10 on its lower side; first inflammable substance 4 adhered to secondary inflammable substance 5 on one side of upper side of the said secondary inflammable substance 5; the said secondary inflammable substance comprising of a striking pad 2 with one side bended and having elasticity, an ignition thread 1 is wrapped around the bended part of the bended side, and the tip of the said bended side is so placed to touch the upper side of the secondary ignition substance 5, and the top edge of the said bended side has a rough surface 6; the said ignition device 8 is fitted into the tip of a cigarette 11, the gummed section 10 of the secondary inflammable substance 5 is let touching the paper of the cigarette, and the said ignition thread 1 is taped to the filter 12 by using a adhesive tape 13.

The said secondary ignition substance 5 has on one side of upper side a safety pin tube and a hole 9, and on the inner bottom of the said secondary ignition substance 5, a safety pin holding hole 16 is so comprised. A safety pin tube and a hole 7 is also comprised on one side of upper side of the striking pad 2.

A safety pin 3 is inserted through the said safety pin tube and hole 9 and through the safety pin tube and hole 7 of the said striking pad 2 and into the safety pin holding hole 16. The tip end of the said safety pin 3 is sharp enough to pierce through the paper wrapper of the cigarette 11 but the safety pin 3 is not sharp enough to pierce the skin of a finger.

The part marked"b"on the diagram marks the position where the tip end of the safety pin 3 is located so that one can tell where the safety pin i3 is.

The said secondary ignition substance 5 comprise of 15 grams of potassium chlorate, 15 grams of diatomite, 28 cc of red adhesive for gluing Styrofoam, and these said three ingredients are mixed together and naturally dried for more than 20 hours; then the inside of the said secondary ignition substance 5 is dug out so that the said secondary ignition substance has inner hollow space. The said primary ignition substance 4 is made of materials that could incite ignition by even slight friction. The said primary ignition substance 4 comprise of 17 cc of water; 5 grams of wallpaper glue are mixed to the 17 cc of water and melted together; and then 10 grams of red amorphous phosphorus, 0.7 grams of potassium chlorate, and 1.3 grams zinc are added to the mixture of water and wallpaper glue and stirred well. A drop of the said primary ignition substance 4 is placed on one side of the upper side of the said secondary ignition substance 5. The primary ignition substance 4 is then let dry and the said primary ignition substance 4attaches to one side of the upper side of the said secondary ignition substance 5.

The said secondary ignition device 5 is a very small device, having a

depth of 3.5 mm, height of 4mm, and length of 5 mm. The said secondary ignition device 5 is small enough to and is fitted into the tip end of a cigarette 11, and by pulling the ignition thread 1, the secondary ignition device 5 lights the cigarette from the position it is placed at the tip end of a cigarette 11.

Cigarettes which are made by mass production facilities, fitting the cigarette ignition device 8 into the tip ends of such cigarettes 11 will be easy and simple by automated facilities, and it is also true of the ignition thread 1. As sulfur is not used, when the primary and secondary ignition substances 4,5 are lighted, there is virtually no smell. The safety mechanism guarantees safety even when the children unintentionally plays with the cigarettes fitted with the said cigarette ignition devices 8. In mass production of the said cigarette ignition device 8, safety is very important and so 10 different kinds of glues and adhesives were tested. The glues and adhesives tested were found to be strong and have no smell.

The said striking pad 2 has a side bended. This is to lessen the unnecessary friction when ignition thread 1 is pulled. The said striking pad 2 has elasticity, but not such strong elasticity that when the ignition thread 1 is pulled, the said striking pad 2 will not cause the ignition substance 5 (capsule) from breaking away from the tip end of a cigarette 11.

The tip end of the said striking pad 2 has a rough surface 6. This said tip end has rough and minute surface so that when it comes into contact with the primary ignition substance 4, the rough surface 6 will allow definite ignition by friction.

The said secondary ignition device 5 is in a form of a capsule, it is very small and sturdy, so that even when it is stepped on or sat on, the said secondary ignition device 5 does not break. The said primary ignition substance 4 is placed on the hollow space of the said secondary ignition device 5, and the striking pad

2 is also placed in the hollow space of the secondary ignition device 5, and the said striking pad 2 as it strikes the upper portion of the hollowed out space of the secondary ignition device 5 and comes into contact with the primary ignition substance 4 at the end of the upper portion of the secondary ignition device 5, the primary ignition takes place, and secondary ignition takes place at the 4mm secondary ignition substance 5, which combined causes the cigarette to be lighted.

The said secondary ignition substance 5 cannot be lighted on its own, and the said secondary ignition substance 5 is only lighted when the primary ignition substance 4 is lighted and the fire from the said primary ignition is transferred to the secondary ignition substance 5. The secondary ignition device 5 is safe in that neither friction nor shock can cause the said secondary ignition substance 5 to be lighted. The said primary ignition substance 4 is placed in the hollow space of the secondary ignition device 5, thereby the said primary ignition substance 4 is protected by the said secondary ignition device 5, and the primary ignition substance 4 can only be lighted when the said striking pad 2 strikes the said primary ignition substance 4.

The said secondary ignition substance 5 is made of 15 grams of potassium chlorate, 15 grams of diatomite, 28 cc of adhesives used for gluing Styrofoam, and these materials are kneaded together into thickness of 4 mm, and then naturally air dried for 20 hours or so, and then cut into thickness of 2 mm, and then the inner portion is dug out by using a knife, and then the two pieces are glued together to form 4 mm thickness again. In mass production of the said cigarette ignition device 8, the inner portion of the said secondary ignition substance 5 will be dug out by using a drill so the secondary ignition substance 5 in mass production will have stronger solidity then as glued together as in this case for the description of the present invention.

The ignition thread 1 is held at the filter 12 of a cigarette 11 with an adhesive tape. The said adhesive tape 13 has some portions of it without adhesive substances, so some portion of the said adhesive tape 13 is non-adhesive tape 14 so that a smoker can easily detach the tape and pull the ignition thread 1.

The above mentioned adhesive tape 13 includes in broad sense the tape that can be stuck and then tore away.

The said safety pin 3 arrests the said striking pad 2 in place at the secondary ignition substance 5, so if and when children unintentionally pulls on the ignition thread 1, the safety pin 3 holds the striking pad 2 in place and so keeps the ignition from taking place, preventing possible dangers from taking place.

In order to use the above mentioned cigarette ignition device 8 to light a cigarette 11, a smoker first gently presses on the colored spot b, which causes the sharp edged safety pin 3 to protrude out of the said cigarette, and the smoker then takes out the safety pin 3 out. Then the smoker tear out the ignition thread 1 taped at the filer 12 of the cigarette 11 by adhesive tape 13, and pull on the ignition thread 1, which causes the said striking pad 2 to move, and the rough surface 6 of the said striking pad 2 by friction causes the primary ignition 4 to be ignited, and then this fire in turn caused the secondary ignition substance 5 to be ignited as well, which caused the cigarette 11 to be lighted. As thus a smoker can light his cigarette and smoke his cigarette.

[Industrial Applicability] The present invention provides a cigarette ignition device with safety mechanism, so that unlike conventional ignition devices such as a box of match or a lighter that does not have a safety mechanism, the present invention can prevent accidental fires as a misuse of fire igniting devices such as a box of match or a lighter, and the prevent invention provides a cigarette ignition device that allows a smoker to light his cigarette without the aid of a box of a match or a lighter.
