Abstract:
Each of a plurality of grid plates in an arc extinguishing device of a circuit breaker for a direct-current circuit has a U-shaped cutout part formed on a movable contact side and side leg parts formed on both sides of the cutout part. Resin insulating bodies are disposed between the grid plates without gaps in the stacking direction of the grid plates. U-shaped cutout parts that face the U-shaped cutout parts of the grid plates are formed in the insulating bodies and also are formed such that the cutout part side side surfaces of the grid plates on the side leg parts of the grid plates are exposed. Thus, the arc voltage for a low current region in which the arc drive force is small can be increased without using a magnet, and high voltage direct current circuits can be isolated.
