Abstract:
A circuit breaker (10) switches on and off an electrical connection between a load and a power source. The circuit breaker (10) comprises an arc-extinguishing grid (82) that splits an arc generated during the contact parting of contacts (11) provided in a circuit inside the circuit breaker (10), an arc runner (81), and a housing (20) that houses the arc-extinguishing grid (82) and the arc runner (81). The arc runner (81) comprises a terminal part connected to the circuit, an arc-runner part disposed opposite the arc-extinguishing grid (82), and a fixed part which couples the terminal part and the arc-runner part and which is fixed to the housing (20). The width of the arc-runner part is narrower than the width of the narrowest portion of the fixed part.
