Abstract:
A circuit breaker for wiring comprises a fixed contact portion, a movable contact portion facing the fixed contact portion, an opening and closing mechanism portion operating the movable contact portion, and a trip portion breaking the main circuit through the opening and closing mechanism portion when an abnormal current occurs. The trip portion comprises a magnet, an armature facing the magnet, a temporary adjustment portion, an instantaneous bar operating the temporary adjustment portion, an instantaneous dial comprising a cam which is in contact with the instantaneous bar, and an instantaneous spring connecting one end of the armature to one end of the temporary adjustment portion. The cam forms a plurality of local points corresponding to an instantaneous multiple, and the plurality of local points are used to adjust the moment arm length between the instantaneous spring and the armature. Accordingly, an instantaneous current can be adjusted by a predetermined multiplying factor when the main circuit is broken due to the abnormal current, the instantaneous current can be adjusted through the instantaneous dial over a wide range when a trip occurs, and the main circuit can be protected since the main circuit is broken automatically through the detection of the abnormal current.
