Abstract:
This circuit breaker is provided with a latch member (260) that is axially supported so as to be able to rotate, a linking member, and a tripping device. The linking member has the following: a passive end (211) that is axially supported by a handle; and an actuating end (212) that is releasably held by the latch member (260). When a circuit enters a state in which protection is required, the tripping device rotates the latch member (260) so as to release the actuating end (212) and separate a moving contact from a fixed contact. The actuating end (212) of the linking member has a sliding-contact surface with which the latch member (260) makes sliding contact. A friction-changing section (214) that makes the frictional force between the sliding-contact surface and the latch member (260) decrease in the direction in which the latch member (260) rotates is formed on the sliding-contact surface.
