Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to cut/slice a work material made of a metal such as a steel pipe in an efficient manner and at a long lifespan, while reducing cutting resistance. [Solution] In a circular saw 1 for cutting metal, distal blade ends 5a of tips 5 substantially describe the shape of concave arc. A recessed breaker part 7 is formed in the central portion of a rake face 6 below the distal blade ends 5a. First side walls 8 are provided on both sides of the recessed breaker part 7. A groove part 9 substantially describing the shape of concave arc in transverse cross-section and being continuous with the recessed breaker part 7 is provided below the recessed breaker part 7. Second side walls 11 continuing downwards from the first side walls 8 are formed on both sides of the groove part 9. The width of the second side walls 11 is formed so as to be greater than that of the first side walls 8, whereby corner parts 12 facing the lower end part of the two first side walls 8 are provided. The two corner parts 12 yield a shape in which the lower part of the recessed breaker part 7 narrows.
