The present invention provides a solid cleaning agent composition which, in order to remove strongly adhered mold, biofilm, and other filth, contains, in high concentrations, a solid-type chlorine bleaching agent and an alkaline compound. The solid cleaning agent composition is capable of suppressing heat-emission that could occur when the cleaning agent composition comes into contact with a small amount of water, and has improved storage stability which prevents breakage as a result of, among other things, expansion of a container containing the cleaning agent composition. The present invention also provides a method for using said cleaning agent composition. The present invention relates to a solid cleaning agent composition which contains an alkaline compound and a solid-type chlorine bleaching agent-containing substance having a coating layer. The cleaning agent composition has an effective chlorine content of 5% or more and a water content of 40 weight% or less; and a 1 weight% aqueous solution of the cleaning agent composition has a pH of 9 or more. The present invention also pertains to a cleaning method using the cleaning agent composition.
