Abstract:
Cleaning device comprising a cleaning unit (35) placed on the downstream side of a position for transferring a toner image onto a sheet. The cleaning unit (35) comprises a cleaning blade (35c) for scraping off residual toner adhering on an image carrier, and a toner dropping prevention sheet (35e) for preventing the scraped residual toner and paper powder from dropping to outside the cleaning unit. In the toner dropping preventive sheet (35), the free length between a fixed position at a first end part secured to the cleaning unit (35) and a second end part in contact with the outer peripheral part of the image carrier is determined depending on the quantity of paper powder collected on the outer peripheral part of the image carrier.
