A CLIP
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1983/003449
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A clip which is characterized by the fact that it includes a holder (1), a U-shaped loop (2) anchored to the holder, a U-shaped flexible blade (3) inserted in the loop and anchored at one of its legs to the leg of the loop (2) facing the holder (1). An extensible member (4) mounted between the said opposite leg of the loop and the other free leg of the flexible blade squeezes the flexible blade around the handle.

Claims :
1. A clip for fixing handles of stretchers, boxes, weapons etc. to a stand, said handles having different diameters, characterized by a holder (1) for the clip and for the an¬ chorage of the clip to the stand, a Ushaped loop (2) firm¬ ly anchored to the holder, a Ushaped flexible blade (3) inserted in the loop and anchored at one of its legs to the leg of the loop facing the holder, and an extensible member (4) mounted between the opposite leg of the loop and the other free leg of the Ushaped flexible blade.
2. A clip according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the Ushaped flexible blade (3) is lined with a layer (5) of a frictionincreasing material, for example a rub¬ ber mat.
3. A clip according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the extensible member is a screw7 (4) which is threaded into the opposite leg of the loop (2) or into a nut which is welded to this leg and which with its end engages the free leg of the Ushaped flexible blade (3) .
4. A clip according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the Ushaped flexible blade (3) has dimensions which substantially correspond to the internal dimensions of the gap of the Ushaped loop (3) .
5. A clip according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the holder (1) is a sleeve intended to be threaded on to a vertical or horizontal tube forming part of the stand, a member (4) mounted on the sleeve for anchoring the sleeve and thereby the clip to the tube, said member including, for example, a screw (7) threaded into the wall of the sleeve or into a nut which is welded to the sleeve wall. ^] O.'ΛPI .
6. A clip according to claims 3 and 5, characterized by the fact that the head of each screw (4,7) has a gripping ring (6 and 9, respectively) welded to it.
Description:
A clip

The present invention refers to a clip for fixing handles of stretchers, boxes, weapons etc. to a stand. The re¬ markable feature of the clip according to the invention is that clips of one and the same dimension can be used for 5 fixing handles of different diameters, whereby the storing of clips of different dimensions for fixing handles of dif¬ ferent dimensions is avoided.

The invention is described more in detail- below with refer- 10 ence to the attached drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a perspec¬ tive view of the clip according to the invention. Fig. 2 is a plane view of the clip as seen from above, and Fig. 3 is a plane view of the clip as seen from one side.

15 The clip of Fig. 1 includes a holder 1, a U-shaped loop 2 fixed to the holder, a U-shaped flexible blade 3, and an ex¬ tensible member 4 for receiving the handle of a stretcher, for example. The blade 3 is preferably lined on its surface facing the handle with a layer 5 of a friction-increasing ma-

20 terial, for example a mat of rubber.

The leg of the loop 2 facing the holder is welded to the hold¬ er 1. The U-shaped flexible blade 3 is of a size which sub¬ stantially is in accordance with the internal dimension of 25 the loop 2. The leg of the flexible blade 3 facing the holder

■** is anchored, for example welded, at the top to the correspond-

_ ; ing leg of the loop 2, while the other leg of the blade is

_ free (loose) . The extensible member 4 is here in the form of a screw which- is threaded into the leg of the loop 2 turned 30 away from, the holder 1 or into a nut not shown which may be welded to the last entioned leg. The head of the nut has a gripping ring 6 welded on to it. The blade 3 is of a material,

for example a strip of steel with resilient properties. The spring force tends to press the free leg of the blade against .the end of the screw.

5 The holder 1 is intended to be fixed to a horizontal or ver¬ tical tube forming part of the stand and the specific shape thereof is accordingly of no importance to the present in¬ vention. In the embodiment shown the holder is a sleeve which is intended to be threaded on to a tube and to be fixed

*j0 to the tube by means of a screw 7. The screw 7 is threaded into a nut 8 which is welded to the sleeve. A gripping ring 9 is welded to the head of the screw. By inserting a long ob¬ ject in the gripping rings 6 and 9 one may tighten the res¬ pective screws 4 and 7 with a great force. As has been men-

15 tioned the holder may be of other shapes. For example, it need not surround the tube to which it is . o be fixed.

The clip is used in the following way: The holder is fixed to a desired tube of the stand. The handle is placed in the

20 U-shaped flexible blade 3 and the nut 6 is then tightened so that the free leg of the blade is bent around and pressed to¬ gether about the handle. It is obvious that handles of dif¬ ferent diameters may be fastened in this way by means of the clip according to the invention. The smaller the diameter of

*2* *' the handle, the more the screw 4 will have to be tightened.
